Settlers vs Metis

There are some people in Lake Melville area who are saying that they will not vote for Chris Montague because he is Metis and he will only dwell on Metis issues when elected. Probably those people are PC's.

What about the fact that John Hickey isn't an Aboriginal person? Lets examine this argument for a minute. Couldn't it also be said by Labrador Natives that they are not voting for Hickey because he isn't Aboriginal.

The point is that this would be lame excuse for not voting for one or the other and it doesn't hold water in many voters books, including mine.

It would be counterproductive for any MHA not to push the issues of ALL his constituents. An elected official who did not strongly put forward the legiminate concerns of him or her supporters would be quickly replaced in the next election, out on the street without a pension, looking for work.

I say, "Give Chris Montague a try, put John Hickey on E.I."

I’m a strong supporter of the PC party.
But I’m not voting for John Hickey, nor Chris Montague

You see, I’m voting for Patty Pottle of the Torngat Mountain

John Hickey and Wally Anderson both had their chances to voice their displeasures of what Danny Williams was doing to the resident of Labrador. “Taking our power to the Island, without even considered the communities of Labrador.

Hickey and Anderson never murmured a word while this was going on. Danny Dumaresque will be the same as the duo, and him, our MHA is a joke.

Vote John Hickey Out and stop Dumaresque from getting in

In my humble opinion Jim it would be wise for you to get rid of Williams by voting for Jimmy Tuttauk in your district.

A vote for Danny Williams candidate means giving Lower Churchill Power to Newfoundland, no strings attached. Do you as a Labrador person want to take such a risk?

We also know that Williams is against giving Labrador back a measly $100 million a year like the Liberals promised to do.

Danny Williams is a very dangerous man for Labrador. His destroy Labrador, Energy Plan is meant to save the Rock on the backs of Labrador people.

Be very afraid of this guy, look at the power he has over John Hickey. I expect that he will have the same power over Patty Pottle and Jim Baker given a chance.

Don't underestimate what the Labrador Party candidate, Jimmy Tuttauk can do.

you might get upset at my comment but i'll say it anyway.

im looking at tuesday as an election day for the island but in labrador i would call it more of an IQ test.i have a labrador connection with family in NWR,(both sides of the river)i have not spent much time there but after seeing the energy plan i can't actually believe anyone would want a PC member representing their interests.

I agree with you entirely table mountains.

The most impossible thing to understand would be that even one aboriginal person voted for a PC
candidate in Labrador.

Practically every person I've known or had many political type conversations with over the years, pretty well ALL of them have had issues regarding the resources of Labrador going out with little to no return for people living here. That goes for the people whose families have lived here forever, to the more recent to the ones just moved here.
I can't understand how, with this grandaddy of all takeaways there doesn't seem to be a bigger outcry than there is. For those Labradorians who want Williams as premier - well that's fair enough, if that's what you want (that's already a done deal anyway)- but you can still register your disapproval of 'the Plan' by voting any other way. In my opinion this should be the only issue in this election. It's all crap when you hear they can change it later, or there are at least two more elections before electricity flows - yes, that's all true, but it's still all crap. Vote on what's in front of you right now - that's 'The Plan'.

But why wait two elections to vote out Silent John Hickey and Silent Jim Baker? Do it now! If Danny has a change of heart before 2011 and decides to "let" Labrador benefit from Labrador's own resources, perhaps we will reconsider and put Silent John and Silent Jim back in.

Pretty pathetic indeed if anyones candidacy has to become racial comment. What is the world coming to, or what is it going back to? Except for the last election when there was a whisper campaign of the name nature, that issue should be dead, buried and remembered only insofar as as a reminder that it must NEVER happen.
And I don't give a good 'g..-....' who each one votes for but that should not be an issue.

That's not racial.

Let's call it what it is.

RACIST.

Don't put John Hickey on EI, he'll only fill the forms out twice and we'll all have to pay the difference.
